How To Hide A Folder On Windows
Greetings, people.
Today we're going to talk about hiding a folder on windows.
There are many a software out there of hiding and password protecting one's files and folders but the problem with them is that they are quite complicated and hard to manage.
So here I am going to tell a few easy and simple tricks to "hide" your folder.
1. Trick #1- Hiding a Folder on the Desktop
To perform this trick, stick to the process described below. Let us suppose that the folder you want to hide is "thebotfolder".
- Right-click on the folder and select "Properties".
- Now rename the folder as " ` " [without quotation marks].
- Now select the "Customise" tab and click "Change Icon..."
- Now scroll until you see 4 "blank" icons.
- Select any of the blank icons and click "OK" or "Apply".
- Now place the Folder at a suitable place on the desktop where " ` " will not attract attention.
- Voila! You have successfully hidden a folder in plain sight on your desktop. 😀
2. Trick #2- Hiding a Folder as an Image
To do this trick, you'll need an internet connection. Just follow the below steps and you'd have successfully performed it.
- First of all, make sure that you have a(n) [non-incriminating 😁] image.
- Now open your browser and go to http://icoconvert.com.
- Now upload the image of your choice and convert it to a .ico file and download it.
- Now right-click on the concerned folder and click on "Properties".
- Rename it as " image.jpg " or any other name that is related to the image you selected in the above steps with a .jpg extension.
- Go to the "Customize" tab and click on "Change Icon...".
- Now click on browse and select the .ico file you downloaded.
- Click on "OK" now.
- Congratulations! You have just made a folder look like an image. You can keep this folder on the desktop or put in in a more safe and secure folder in another directory.
